Chulucanas ceramics comes from a small town called Chulucanas in the North of Peru. With the use of simple tools and utensils the clay is transformed into beautiful products. Each product is created with great care and dedication, giving much attention to detail and transmitting culture and identity to create part of its soul. What makes Chulucanas ceramics special is the burning and polishing process. Artisans use mango leaves to give the special black color without using any paint and each piece is polished using stones to give it its particularly shining finish.
